Missed Pickup? Here's What to Do
bin still full after collection day? check these three things before you call anyone.
1. Check for a holiday shift
If a statutory holiday fell on or before your collection day that week, pickup moves forward a day. See the full holiday schedule before assuming it was missed.
2. Check your setout
Bins need to be at the curb — not blocked by a car, snowbank, or another bin — by 7:00 AM on your collection day. Crews won't backtrack for a bin they couldn't reach the first time.
3. Report it to the right place
This is the part that changed. Toronto now splits collection across two different operators, so who you contact depends on the bin.

anymore — you'll get redirected
Your bin, collection day, and blue-box calendar generally stayed the same in the switch — only who picks up the phone for a missed recycling pickup changed.
